Bulk Edit Portlet

The bulk edit portlet allows multiple items to be edited at the same time. To be used, the user needs to specify:

1. A Content Store

2. A Bulk edit template

3. Cache groups (optional) see Page_cache

4. Redirect path (optional)

When adding/editing the bulk edit portlet, you will be presented with the screen as in Figure 1 with few settings to configure:

  • Content Store: Select the required store the items you are editing are from. This option uses shortcut functionality.
  • Bulk edit template: Select the required template for the bulk edit. Only bulk edit templates will be displayed here. Please make sure that the template selected corresponds with the content store selected above. This option uses shortcut functionality.
  • Cache groups to be flushed at the end of a bulk edit: Provide cache groups that should be flushed after bulk edit has finished. For more information about caching see Page_cache.
  • Redirect to page when finished successfully bulk editing the items (leave empty for no redirect): Enter the page path to redirect to upon completion. If left empty it will stay on the same page. From Unify 4.6.3 if no redirect is set, when bulk edit action finishes a message will be shown saying "Finished successfully." From this version it is also possible to bind events using javascript ('INIT', 'ERROR', 'WARNING', 'PROGRESS' and 'COMPLETE') so we can execute custom actions (or even override the user interface provided). Please have a look at the importer.js script included in the page.
